Since I can remember I have been drawing and painting. One of my first memories is finger painting flowers in my kindergarten class with Mrs. Romero. My mother still has the finished piece I believe. I've always been fascinated with nature and the mythology of the spirits that keep it in balance. I'm one of those people you see walking down the street picking up litter out of habit because it was always ingrained in my childhood to take care of the world around you and appreciate its beauty. And in my appreciation for the things around me, it brings me the greatest joy to be able to possess the talent of converting what I see and feel onto paper.
I had these amazing 5th and 6th grade teachers that loved to read to my classes. And typically the subject matter was fantasy novels. I think my first fantasy read was 'A Wrinkle in Time' and I remember sitting listening to my teacher read and sketching in my notebook what I imagined what the creatures might look like. So I suppose it was only natural that I would choose to make my main genre fantasy and romantic imagery.
I never really believed I would be a full time artist. Was always told to keep a back up plan. But one day in 2001, I decided to make a little web page and see what happened. My buisness has been growing ever since. And I couldn't be happier. I specialize in watercolor paints. Mostly because they are so easy to transport and take very little clean up. I believe in angels, listen to fairies, dance with elves, and just enjoy the world around me. I now have the greatest job in the world because I love what I do.
